BikeParka Fit Guide: How to Fit Your Bike Cover in Seconds

Works for: STASH, URBAN, XL, CARGO and LONGTAIL
Covers: commuters, e‑bikes, mountain bikes, longtails (e‑cargo like Tern GSD / RadWagon / Yuba), and front‑loader cargo bikes (Riese & Müller Load / Urban Arrow)

BikeParka covers are designed by cyclists for daily outdoor parking and long‑term storage. Follow the quick steps below for a clean, weather‑tight fit that stays put in wind and rain.

Quick Fit: Standard Bikes (STASH, URBAN, XL)

Best for: road, commuter, hybrid, MTB, e‑hybrids

1) Start at the front wheel (low).
Hold the cover label‑side out. Hook the front hem low around the front tyre first.

2) Lift and roll it back over the bike.
Guide the cover up and over the fork and bars, then over the saddle and rear wheel. Take care around levers, lights and baskets.

3) Cinch for a wind‑safe seal.
Use the Elasticated Toggle System (ETS) to tighten the hem. If you’re locking up, thread your lock through the lock‑through panel to secure the cover with the bike.

4) Check the drape.
Smooth any folds so rain sheds cleanly. If you run a child seat, front rack or tall bars, size up (URBAN → XL).

Why this works: Starting at the front makes it easy to manage bar controls and guarantees the cover sits correctly over the cockpit before you tension the hem.

Quick Fit: Cargo & Longtail E‑Bikes (CARGO, LONGTAIL)

Best for: extended‑rear longtails (e.g., Tern GSD, RadWagon, Yuba), and front‑loader cargo bikes (e.g., Riese & Müller Load, Urban Arrow)

1) Start at the rear (low).
Hook the hem around the rear wheel, rack and child seat first.

2) Pull forward to the front.
Draw the cover forward over the deck, then over the handlebars, box (for front‑loaders) and front wheel.

3) Cinch and secure.
Tighten the ETS hem. Use the lock‑through panel with your D‑lock or chain to anchor the cover and deter gusts.

4) Final check.
Make sure the cover clears accessories (rear footrests, cargo rails, front box corners) so water runs off and fabric isn’t snagged.

Why this works: Starting at the rear lets the cover sit cleanly over long tail sections, seats and rails before you tackle the larger bar/box area at the front.

30‑Second Measuring Guide (so you pick the right size)

  • Length: wheel‑to‑wheel

  • Height: ground to top of bars/seat (whichever is higher)

  • Width: handlebar tip to tip

Size tips:

  • STASH / URBAN: most commuters and road bikes

  • XL: MTBs, e‑hybrids, tall cockpits, front baskets

  • LONGTAIL: extended‑rear e‑cargo (Tern GSD, RadWagon, Yuba)

  • CARGO: front‑loader box bikes (Riese & Müller Load, Urban Arrow)

Between sizes or running a child seat, baskets or racks? Go up one size for fast on/off and better drape.

Pro Tips for a Better Seal

  • Wind: always cinch the ETS hem; if you lock the bike, use the lock‑through panel.

  • Rain shed: smooth big folds so water runs off (no pooling on the saddle).

  • Condensation: fit on a dry bike when possible; crack the hem for a minute after very wet rides to vent moisture.

  • Care: wipe with mild soap, air‑dry fully; avoid machine wash/heat to protect the waterproof coating. Store dry in the Stuff Sack.

FAQs

Are BikeParka covers waterproof?
Yes—ripstop polyester with a PU coating and fully taped seams keeps rain out, even in bad weather.

Will this fit my e‑bike with wide bars?
Yes—choose XL for extra bar/stack height or URBAN if the cockpit is compact.

What about my Tern GSD / RadWagon / Yuba?
Use the LONGTAIL cover; it’s shaped for extended frames, racks and child seats.

What about my Riese & Müller Load / Urban Arrow?
Use the CARGO cover; it’s designed for front‑loader box bikes.

Can I lock my bike while it’s covered?
Yes—pass your D‑lock or chain through the lock‑through panel.

Does the UV treatment protect the bike?
It helps the cover resist sun‑related wear; it doesn’t provide UV shielding for the bike itself.
